Zyrobotics Crowned Shark Tank Winner at the 6th Annual Academic & Industry Intersection Conference
Atlanta, Ga– Zyrobotics, a rising assistive technology company, became shark tank winner at the 6th Annual Academic & Industry Intersection Conference (AIIC), which brings together academic/industry experts and professionals within the life science, medical and technology sectors.
The AIIC is hosted annually by Emory University, with collaboration from renowned organizations and institution such as, the Atlanta Clinical & Translational Science Institute (ACTSI), Morehouse School of Medicine, Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia Bio. The AIIC seeks to aid and educate startup companies on how to acquire funding and create lasting strategic partnerships, particularly for startups that encourage and foster life science products and services that enhance the lives of people throughout the world.
Zyrobotics proves that they possess a bright future for strategic partnerships and investor funding through its unique product offerings that reach a demographic often overlooked. By addressing the need for accessible and affordable therapy for children with special needs, Dr. J. MacCalla pitched the idea of using a robot therapy coach to support cognitive, behavioral and physical therapy goals for children with disabilities.
By coupling a robot therapy coach with the apps already used by therapists in the clinical and educational setting, Zyrobotics aims to create accessible and affordable home therapy solutions for children. Dr. J. MacCalla of Zyrobotics states that winning this award was an honor and that she is pleased that Zyrobotics’ vision resonated with the judges.
The shark tank comprised of seven sharks ranging from investors, successful bioscience entrepreneurs, and executives. Zyrobotics won by an undisputed vote over four pitching companies; AccuHealth Technologies, Inc., Genoma, Inc., Infrared Rx. Inc., and NEURO+ . In their mission to provide freedom through technology, Zyrobotics has gained the stamp of approval from these bioscience-savvy sharks.
